Running Jobs

A left click on the running sub-node will display a list of jobs that are currently in progress as shown below. Once completed, jobs are removed from the running jobs list and moved to the completed jobs list.

The result pane contains the following columns for each job that is currently running.

  • Name - the name of the job that is currently running, including the associated volume group
  • Started - the time when the job started
  • Checkpoint - the last completed step the job, i.e. which phase of the operation the job is currently in.  A full list of checkpoints is described below.
  • Status - the current status of the job
  • Elapsed - the amount of time that has elapsed since the job began.
  • Est Remaining - indicates the estimated time remaining to complete the job.
  • Current Throughput - this field reports in bytes per second the sum of the most recent data throughput for the current job.
  • Average Throughput - this field reports in bytes per second the sum of the average throughput for the current job.
  • Bytes Total - refers to the size of the configured volume in bytes.
  • Bytes Processed - refers to the total bytes of data processed.
  • Bytes Written - refers to the total bytes of data written. It includes the data as well as the metadata and hence is typically greater than the Bytes Processed.

 

The list of checkpoints that can be encountered includes:

  • Checkpoints seen while starting a job:
    • Starting
  • Checkpoints seen while creating a backup:
    • Creating shadow copies
    • Finalizing Snapshot
    • Finalizing Cloud Clone
  • Checkpoints seen while mounting a backup volume:
    • Cloning Snapshot
    • Cloning Cloud Snapshot
    • Cloning Cloud Clone
    • Mounting Snapshot
    • Mounting Cloud Snapshot
    • Mounting Cloud Clone
  • Checkpoints seen while restoring a backup:
    • Cloning Snapshot
    • Cloning Cloud Snapshot
    • Cloning Cloud Clone
    • Restoring Snapshot
    • Restoring Cloud Snapshot
    • Restoring Cloud Clone
