CHAP Target Settings

Last modified
Table of contents

The ‘CHAP Target Settings’ page allows you to configure the Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) credentials that are used by your appliance when a CHAP-enabled initiator is requesting mutual authentication.  Your appliance will use the ‘CHAP Target User’ and ‘CHAP Target Secret’ to identify itself to the initiator during the mutual authentication process.  The ‘CHAP Target Settings’ window is shown below.

To configure CHAP target settings, type in the user name that your applianceshould use in the box next to ‘CHAP Target User’, and type in the secret (password) in the box next to ‘CHAP Target Secret’.  You may need to configure this value in your server iSCSI initiator software as well, to allow mutual authentication to succeed.

When you have finished configuring CHAP target settings, click the ‘Apply’ button to save the configuration.
