The following are the release notes for v1.0 for StorSimple Data Protection MMC Snap-In

Comments and/or Work Arounds

Steps to remove stale entries, if MMC is uninstalled and a new version is installed

The steps to cleanup stale entries during MMC re-install are:
1) Uninstall the old build;
2) Backup contents inside "C:
\ProgramData\StorSimple" for Disaster Recovery as needed. Then clean up the "C: \ProgramData\StorSimple" folder contents;
3) Install the new build.

The 32bit version must be installed on a 32bit OS, and the 64bit version on a 64bit OS.

Select the right installer package for 32bit or 64bit OS. Windows 2008 and Windows 2008 R2 are supported, while Windows 2003 is not.

Snapshots or Cloud Clones cannot be created when the volume name is 2 or fewer characters in length.

While assigning names to volumes using the Armada UI,  please ensure the name is more than 2 characters in length

Backup operations may fail after a restore operation has been performed

If the configuration of a volume group changes due to a restore, caused by changing a drive letter associated with a volume group member volume, or by changing the volume assigned to a drive letter, future backup operations (either interactive or scheduled as a policy) may fail.  To work around this, recreate the volume group, or ensure that drive letters or volume assignments do not change while performing restore operations

Unable to establish a connection between the MMC Snap-In and a remote Application server

In order to establish a remote connection between the MMC Snap-In and the remote host, port 7879 must be open in the firewall on the remote host
