Perform the following steps to install the software.

1. Copy the installer to one of your WFE servers that is configured to run the SharePoint Central Administration web application.

2. Login to your WFE server (using the console, remote desktop or other means) using an account with administrative privileges.

3. Begin the installation process by double-clicking the installer. The welcome screen is displayed, as shown below.

4. Click 'Next' to continue.

5. Read the StorSimple Product Terms and Conditions, click the radio button next to 'I accept the terms in the license agreement', and click 'Next'.

6. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, do not proceed further, and do not install the software.

7. Click 'Install' on the 'Ready to Install the Program' screen to begin the installation, which can take approximately five minutes.

8. Upon completion, the installer will open the SharePoint Central Administration page in which you will see the 'StorSimple Configuration' group with the StorSimple SharePoint Database Optimizer links.

9. If deploying on SharePoint 2010, you will see the page shown below.

If you are using EBS, proceed to the section titled ' Initial Configuration - EBS '. If you are using RBS, proceed to the section titled 'Initial Configuration 'RBS'.
